Meet Your Kensington Lake Orion Team Leaders

Sue Kinch
Ministry Coordinator
Lake Orion Campus

Sue Kinch, Ministry Coordinator, here.  I have the privilege of helping organize the Lake Orion Campus Sunday morning volunteer teams: Traffic, Usher/Greeter, Hospitality, Coffee Crew, Welcome Center, Resource Center, Medical, and Security.  It’s a great job!

I live in Oxford with my husband Jim and our boys, Campbell and Brendan. I am beyond thrilled that Kensington Church is coming to Lake Orion. For a long time I’ve been inviting people to Kensington and often they would say, “That’s kind of a drive,” and we’d let it drop. Now I’m finding if I just open the door (by wearing my staff badge or mentioning the new campus) people are asking me about church. I ask them what they want to know and usually the heart of their question is “Will this be a safe place to come?”

I can confidently assure them that the Lake Orion campus will be a great place to come because I know the people who will be waiting to greet them. Chuck Cameron will be waiving them into the parking lot wearing a cowboy hat! Eric Haiss and his usher/greeter team will be smiling at the doors. Renee Anderson and the ladies at the Resource Center will have just the book they are looking for. The husband and wife teams that will be at the Welcome Center will help them find answers to their questions. The list of people coming together to make the Lake Orion campus a safe place for our friends to and families to move closer to Jesus goes on and on.

"When we open, will you come?"  I ask. I've yet to hear a "no".

Oh yea, I’m excited. Call me any time (248) 505-5815. I promise you I’ll have some fresh story about how God is making meaningful connections all over our community. (Fair warning: I’ll ask you where you are serving on Sunday mornings too!)

Troy Grabel
Breakaway (Middle School) Coordinator
Lake Orion Campus

My name is Troy Grabel. I have recently joined the exciting new launch team for Kensington’s Lake Orion campus. I will be leading our middle school Breakaway Ministry program… I have been attending Kensington Church for the past five years; I have served in Treasure Island and currently leading my sons breakaway small group. I’m 35 years old, with a wonderful, beautiful wife Emily. Christ has blessed us with three outstanding children Bailey (11 yrs), Izyk (9 yrs) and Alexandrya (8 yrs)… Our family has lived here in the Lake Orion area for the past seven years.

Christ has challenged me to step up and take on a bigger role to impact the lives of our children. He has asked me to not only be a Dad and small group leader, but he has guided me to step up in our community to impact our future (kids) here in Lake Orion, Oxford, Clarkston, and beyond… I will lead our campus middle school ministry program and assisting other outstanding parents to help develop our kid’s faith in Jesus Christ.

My belief is wherever there is a child there is a young person who needs to understand the power of Christ and how to develop a strong internal bond with him.   Our vision with Breakaway is “To love others and to show the world who Christ is, one person, one act of love at a time…”

I encourage you to track me down so you can get son and/ or daughter connected with our Lake Orion Middle School Ministry.
Make sure you are ready to have Fun, Fun and some more FUN…

Michael Bouchard
"Kensington Kids" Programming
Lake Orion Campus

MBHi! My name is Michael. I’m super excited to be joining the Lake Orion Campus as the Kensington Kids’ Creative Programming Manager. I’m brand new to Kensington, and it’s so exciting to see what God’s going to be doing out in Lake Orion. I’m 24, I love food, and I’m currently living in Flint with my puppy, Buddy. I spent the last couple of years working as a children’s minister in Ohio before God brought me back up to my hometown of Flint, and ultimately to Kensington. My passion is teaching kids about God’s amazing love, and showing them how to love Him right back. In fact, I think it’s the greatest thing in the world! I enjoy plugging into families and helping them live life God’s way together. I’ve been involved in children’s ministry since the day I graduated from my own as a child, and it gets better every day!

I’m counting down the days to the launch of the new campus, and I can hardly wait to meet and connect with all of you, regardless of whether or not you’ve got kids in our ministry. I look forward to opportunities to serve you and get to know you as we Love, Lock, and Live together in Lake Orion. So remember, if you ever need anything, or if you ever have an extra batch of homemade cookies lying around that you don’t know what to do with, just look for dude with the curly fro.
